What is the Skimmer Box for my swimming pool?

The Skimmer Box is attached to the swimming pool wall. It's located or is the same as the spot where the water goes into (enters) the filter system. It is a plastic housing that is attatched to the pool on the inside and the outside of the pool wall. It is usually square or rectangular shaped on the inside of the wall (called the face plate). You should replace the Skimmer Box every time that it leaks or cracks, or anytime that you replace the pool liner. Here are pictures of the 2 most common types:
