Pool liner padding has been introduced into the swimming pool market over the last decade and since, has quickly replaced many foam pads that go underneath the swimming pool liner.  It is made of a fiber like material that resembles a thick felt like pad.  The purpose of this pad is mainly for protection to the underside of the swimming pool liner.  Glass, rocks, and debris sometimes find their way into the sand underneath an above ground pool liner.  This liner pad helps to protect the swimming pool liner from this type of debris.

Moreover, liner pad keeps a barrier between the liner and a formation of grass (nut grass) that can sometimes grow up through pool liners after they are installed.  Pool liner padding may also help with respect to softness and comfort to your feet.  Liner padding adds a layer of softness to help cushion your feet from the hard like feel of sand and concrete.

These advantages make liner pad an affordable solution to some of the common problems that occur.  However, proper installation of liner pad is the key, or you can cause problems, like liner wrinkling, that cause more trouble than good.
