There are a few reasons that can cause your swimming pool wall to become indented. Primarily, there may not be enough water in the swimming pool. Secondly, something punctured the swimming pool wall. Third, someone may have punctured a hole in the pool wall or have indented the pool wall.

First and foremost, there may not be enough water in the swimming pool.  A swimming pool wall can indent when there is less than a foot of water in your above ground swimming pool. No need to worry though, it’s a simple fix, just fill the swimming pool back up to approximately 14”, the pool wall should pop back into place after that.

Subsequently, something may have punctured the swimming pool wall. This could happen during closing stage or at the time you’re replacing your swimming pool liner. During the closing stage, your swimming pool can lose water as a result from a good size ice block built up inside the swimming pool. With everything freezing over during the winter months, your swimming pool can build up ice blocks in your pool, even though it has been drained to the proper level. The ice can shift and possibly puncture the swimming pool liner and even the swimming pool wall. During the time of replacement of a swimming pool liner, the swimming pool walls may look like they are caving in, but there not, just continue filling the swimming pool to the proper level, as instructed by your swimming pool liner installer, and the pool wall(s) will go right back into position.

Lastly, someone may have accidentally or purposely placed a puncture or indentation in the pool wall. If someone has accidentally placed a puncture or indention in the swimming pool wall this was probably the result of that person or people playing or working with a heavy and sharp tool. For example, your lawn maintenance company is working in your yard, while mowing the lawn they accidentally mow over a sharp object unseen by the eye. The object then shoots out from the mower and directly at your swimming pool causing a puncture in the pool wall. If someone has purposely placed a puncture or indentation in the swimming pool wall this is a result of vandalism.  For example, neighborhood kids going around and kicking in swimming pools just for kicks and giggles.
